Job Summary:
The Senior Engineer - Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's PKI systems and services. This role requires a deep understanding of cryptographic principles, certificate management, and security protocols. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and security of digital communications and transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement PKI solutions to support secure communications and data protection.
- Manage the lifecycle of digital certificates, including issuance, renewal, and revocation.
- Develop and enforce PKI policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to integrate PKI with existing security frameworks and technologies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot PKI systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams regarding PKI-related issues.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in PKI and cryptography.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in PKI, cryptography, or information security.
- Strong knowledge of PKI standards and protocols (e.g., X.509, SSL/TLS, S/MIME).
- Experience with PKI solutions such as Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services, OpenSSL, or similar technologies.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based PKI solutions and services.
