Position Summary
Independently develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule. Takes on project role.
- Review external designer's pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
- Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
- Create the hull outfitting equipment sourcing technical specifications for cranes, deck machinery, outfitting, etc.
- Conduct a technical assessment of the offer made by the seller.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors for interpretation of the drawings and specifications.
- Prepare arrangement & detail outfitting drawings.
- Develop and update weight report (weight and center of gravity).
- Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
- Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.
- Safety and architectural outfitting coverage is an advantage.
Job Description
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry Detail Design for Hull Outfitting newbuilding engineering design.
- Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline Character and Skill
- Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ AVEVA
- Good communication and analytical skills
