Role:
EHS Engineer will be part of the EHS team responsible for ensuring work site complies with all regulatory requirements as well as corporate safety standards in the workplace. The incumbent is expected to conduct effective safety training to employees.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Support risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure workplace safety.
- Support incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular engagement, communication, and presence on the shop floor.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements:
- Registered WSHO
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in EHS roles, preferably within chemical or process Industries
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, WSH or a related field
- Strong understanding of local EHS regulations and standards
- Experience with EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Proven ability to develop and implement EHS programs
- Experience in EHS training, risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Ability to monitor and report EHS performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented and ability to work independently and part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams
