Job Description & Requirements
A Senior Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring food safety and quality, and potentially supervising junior kitchen staff. They manage stock levels, prepare workstations, and adhere to hygiene standards. Additionally, they may participate in menu planning and ensure proper portions are served.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Preparing and cooking dishes according to recipes and standards.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations, including proper storage and handling, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen.
- Inventory Management: Checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing inventory to avoid spoilage.
- Supervision: Supervising junior kitchen staff, potentially assisting in their development and training.
- Menu Planning: May participate in menu planning, determining portion sizes, and considering dietary needs.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that food presentation and quality meet established standards.
- Shift Management: Preparing for and managing the workflow during shifts, including ensuring timely delivery of orders.
