Job Overview
We are looking for a commercially astute Business Development Manager with deep experience in petrochemical commodities. This role involves managing the full deal cyclefrom sourcing and buying materials, engaging with vendors and off takers, to structuring long-term contracts. You will play a key role in driving growth, optimising procurement strategies, and executing end-to-end transactions across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct demand-supply analysis, pricing benchmarks, and trade flow studiesto inform commercial strategy and contract structuring.
- Assist in the development, review, and administration of long-term supply agreements, sales contracts, and vendor/offtaker arrangements.
- Track contract performance, monitor compliance, and highlight risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Generate, prepare, and review commodities contracts for a range of commodities products.
- Analyse and identify commercial terms that will place the company and shareholders at risk.
- Liaise with procurement, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless contract execution and timely resolution of operational issues.
- Maintain close relationships with suppliers and customers, supporting the evaluation of long-term partnerships.
- Ensure all commercial activities adhere to internal governance policies and external trade regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in Petroleum & Petrochemical products, or related with exposure to vendor management & contract management.
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to conduct demand-supply studies and commercial market analysis.
- Familiarity with structuring, reviewing, and administering long-term supply/sales contracts.
- Good understanding of regional/international market dynamics and trade flows.
- Proficient in MS Excel/Power BI (or other analytical tools) for modelling and reporting.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to support contract execution while ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
