Senior Underwriting Executive (Commercial Lines)

Job Summary

HL Assurance Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Executive to join our Commercial Lines team. As a Senior Underwriting Executive, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic, risk-based underwriting solutions to our commercial clients. This is a full-time position based in our office in the Downtown Core Central Region.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Lines, you shall be responsible to:

• Assist in the technical and product development for all commercial lines of business, which include but not limited to Property & Casualty, Engineering, WIC .

• Perform underwriting portfolio reviews on a monthly basis and recommend corrective actions whenever required.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with intermediaries and provide assistance and support as when required.

• Analyse and price renewal business at a premium commensurate with the acceptable risk exposure or changes in policies.

• Achieve budget and meet renewal retention goals.

• Manage referrals from the call centre, customers and intermediaries.

• Conduct market research and competitors statistical analysis of all product classes.

• Engage in various underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company results.

• Review, evaluate, and recommend modifications to underwriting guidelines and workflows.

• Prepare and conduct product training.

• Generate production reports and other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• A recognized Diploma or Degree in any related discipline, with professional qualifications in General Insurance.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on underwriting experience in commercial lines, including Property & Casualty, Engineering, WIC is a must.

• Strong analytical skills and decision making, with attention to details.

• Independent and a fast leaner, able to grasp processes and system quickly.

• Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship management skills.

• Able to work within deadlines and under pressure.
