Job Description:
- Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings for water and waste water treatment plants, pipelines, process systems, pressure vessel, skids and modules.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate drawings.
- Develop P&IDs, piping layouts, general arrangements, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain drawing standards, title blocks, layering, and file naming conventions.
- Perform clash detection and design reviews using 3D modeling software.
- Manage revisions, redlines, and markups through the document control system.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, AWWA) and company standards.
- Coordinate with external consultants, vendors, fabrication and or commissioning teams as needed.
- Mentor drafters and support CAD team development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 5-10 years of CAD drafting experience, with at least 3 years in water treatment and/or oil & gas.
- Strong understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and equipment layouts.
Software Proficiency:
- AutoCAD (2D & 3D) - required
- AutoCAD Plant 3D - preferred
- Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D - desirable
- MicroStation - optional but a plus
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Certifications (Optional but Valuable):
- Autodesk Certified Professional (AutoCAD or Plant 3D)
- OSHA Safety Training (for site visits)
