Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and optimizing the end-to-end logistics and distribution processes. This role ensures timely movement of goods, accuracy in documentation, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement of logistics operations to support business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of goods.
- Arrange transportation with freight forwarders, carriers, and courier services.
- Track shipments, troubleshoot delays, and provide proactive updates to stakeholders.
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including inventory movement, receiving, and dispatch.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and verify shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, COO, permits, and certificates.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade requirements, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and logistics transactions.
Inventory & Data Management
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/WMS systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and support stock reconciliation activities.
- Generate logistics and inventory reports for internal stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Handle customer inquiries related to shipping, delivery timelines, and product availability.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve lead times, and increase efficiency.
- Support logistics-related projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, shipping, or freight coordination.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, and customs documentation.
- Proficient in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Experience in working with freight forwarders or 3PL partners.
- Familiarity with trade compliance and HS code classification.
- Knowledge of lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
