Senior AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, provision, manage, and optimise enterprise AWS cloud infrastructure across multi-account environments. The role will focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure across enterprise and multi-account environments, covering compute, networking, storage, databases, containers, and supporting AWS services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Terraform Enterprise and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, and operational activities using Ansible, AWS Systems Manager, Python, and Shell scripting.
• Build and support CI/CD and DevOps workflows, integrating infrastructure deployment, configuration management, security scanning, and automated operational processes.
• Monitor infrastructure availability, performance, capacity, and security using AWS and enterprise monitoring and logging solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production infrastructure issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement infrastructure security controls, including IAM hardening, least-privilege access, vulnerability remediation, patch management, security findings remediation, penetration-test findings, and audit/compliance requirements.
• Support cloud migration, modernisation, backup, high availability, resilience, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with application, cybersecurity, network, cloud service provider, and vendor teams to deliver reliable and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, operational runbooks, and infrastructure engineering best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support for infrastructure automation, operational improvements, and enterprise cloud initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in ICT infrastructure, cloud engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services across Compute, Networking, Storage, Databases, Containers, and related cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform/Terraform Enterprise, Ansible, or equivalent Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD and source-control platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure security, including IAM, least privilege, vulnerability management, system hardening, patching, security remediation, and audit/compliance requirements.
• Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, Shell/Bash, AWS Systems Manager, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and production incident management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, and vendor teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing enterprise or multi-account AWS environments.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
• Knowledge of AWS high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience patterns.
• Experience working in environments with security assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability remediation, and regulatory/audit requirements.
• Experience developing reusable infrastructure modules, automation frameworks, and operational tooling.
