(Senior) Automation Technician

Breakdown Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures (both hardware and software) during breakdown maintenance.
• Address minor stops using a systematic approach and implement permanent solutions.
• Perform calibration on all measurement devices.

Preventive Maintenance

• Maintain the work system in the Maximo System.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and continuously improve PM work orders.
• Perform simple preventive maintenance tasks during changeovers.
• Observe abnormalities during PM activities and provide appropriate solutions.
• Participate as a PM team member in structural PM activities, such as breakdown analysis, loss deployment, generating OPLs, conducting RCFA analysis, and creating visual inspections to support AM activities.

Efficiency Improvement

• Execute equipment improvements and modifications.
• Suggest enhancements to work methods and procedures.
• Leverage insights from RCFA to propose and implement preventive actions.

Automation System

• Perform backups of the automation system.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues within the automation system.
• Modify control programs to support improvements, projects, and bug fixes.
• Update PLC and UNIX programs to enhance process methodologies and meet evolving requirements.

Electrical

• Maintain equipment electrical circuits.
• Service electrical motors.
• Perform modifications for process enhancements or layout conversions.

Instrument

• Troubleshoot basic instruments such as temperature sensors, control valves, and pressure devices.

Overhaul

• Execute the annual equipment overhaul program as scheduled by the Planner or Engineer.

Spare Parts management

• Identify and highlight spare parts requirements and shortages based on inventory levels and work demands

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in Process Control or Automation within a manufacturing or food processing environment, with practical knowledge of Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Strong planning, supervisory, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, lead others in problem-solving, and execute assigned tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting.
• Skilled in motor servicing and control circuitry.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Experience in sensor selection and maintenance.
• VSD (Variable Speed Drive) maintenance.
• Basic instrumentation experience (added advantage).
• Maintenance of SCADA systems (added advantage).
