Senior Assistant Director, AI

As Senior Assistant Director of AI in the Digital Tech & Computing Cluster, he/she will

- Shape and catalyse the execution of A.STAR's AI strategy. This includes identifying key AI research areas and convening programmes that fulfill Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0.

- Partner AI researchers and steering them towards achieving the strategic objectives of the organisation, eg. in AI for Science, AI for Manufacturing, AI for Healthcare, and AI for Transport.

- Facilitate transformation of scientific research and technology development through promotion of more extensive use of data, AI and computing in A.STAR's Data-AI-Computing (DAC) initiative.

Job Requirements

- Background in Engineering, IT, or Computer Science with at least 5 years of working experience in AI and Data Science

- Ability to think strategically, analyse issues systematically, and devise comprehensive solutions

- Knowledge in a broad range of digital technologies, the digital industry, their trends, challenges, and potentials, especially in AI developments

- Passion in shaping research and innovation in digital technologies to bring about economic and societal outcomes for Singapore

- Proactive learning attitude, attention to details and results-oriented

- Comfortable with delivering outcomes in complex environment within challenging timelines

- Experience in technology strategy development or programme management roles in the public service or research organisations would be a plus point
