Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team during an exciting phase of organizational growth. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager , this role will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting activities. The successful candidate will assume ownership of end-to-end accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the General Ledger, while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting timely and reliable financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations & Management
- Full-Set Accounting: Take ownership of end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring the timely and accurate recording of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) transactions within the ERP system.
- Full-Set Accounting: Assume full ownership of end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring all Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner within the ERP system.
- Asset Governance: Oversee the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), ensuring accurate recording of asset capitalization, disposals, and monthly depreciation in compliance with corporate policies.
- Financial Integrity: Lead the review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and historical schedules, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and audit-readiness of financial data.
2. Reporting & Compliance
- Closing Cycles: Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all adjustment journals and accruals are accurately posted and deadlines are consistently met.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile all balance sheet schedules to maintain accuracy and completeness
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, preparing comprehensive audit packs and resolving queries to ensure a seamless statutory audit process.
- Statutory Compliance: Manage quarterly GST filings and ensure all financial records comply with IRAS requirements and prevailing statutory regulations.
3. Operational Excellence
- Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements to accounting workflows to drive greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with internal business units and external vendors to resolve transactional matters promptly and with minimal escalation.
- Ad-hoc Projects & Strategic Support: Support the Senior Finance Manager on special projects and strategic finance initiatives, providing analytical insights and practical solutions.
Candidate Requirements
- 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in a similar environment,
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification (CA Singapore / ACCA / CPA) preferred
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) exposure to US GAAP reporting is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
