Security Engineering Manager, Financial Services

Overview

Our client is an established organisation within the Financial Services sector, operating in a highly regulated environment with a strong focus on technology, resilience, and risk management. They are looking for a senior cybersecurity leader to oversee security engineering capabilities and strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.

Role

You will be responsible for leading the security engineering function, including the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise security capabilities. The role will work closely with technology, risk, compliance, and security stakeholders to ensure that security controls remain effective, scalable, and aligned with business and regulatory expectations. You will also lead a team of security professionals, oversee external partners and technology providers, support the management of significant security events, and drive improvements in automation, operational efficiency, governance, and security service delivery.

Requirements

• Significant experience in cybersecurity or information security within large, complex organisations, ideally in Financial Services or another regulated sector.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise security architecture, security platforms, vulnerability management, access controls, monitoring, detection, and data protection technologies.
• Strong understanding of information security governance, risk management, regulatory requirements, and recognised security frameworks.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing technical teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and working across multiple technology and business functions.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications and experience managing vendors, security services, operational improvements, and technology transformation initiatives.
