Red Team Specialist, Financial Services

Overview

Our client is a global financial services organisation with a strong focus on technology resilience and cyber defence. They are seeking an experienced Red Team Specialist (multiple headcounts) to strengthen security across enterprise environments and emerging technology platforms. The position offers significant exposure to sophisticated security challenges and senior stakeholders across both technology and business functions.

Role

You will plan and execute advanced red team exercises that replicate realistic threat scenarios across technology, processes, and user behaviour. The role will involve developing custom attack tooling, testing security controls, assessing attack paths, and evaluating how effectively security teams detect and respond to simulated threats. You will also assess newer technology environments, including cloud-native platforms, AI-enabled applications, automation pipelines, and connected systems. A key part of the role will be translating complex technical findings into clear risk implications and practical remediation actions for both engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in offensive security, red teaming, penetration testing, or adversary simulation within complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to develop or customise offensive tooling and scripts using languages such as Python, C/C++, Go, Rust, PowerShell, or C#, with a solid understanding of exploitation techniques.
• Experience assessing infrastructure, applications, APIs, cloud environments, and modern security controls, including the ability to test detection and response effectiveness.
• Familiarity with structured attack and threat-modelling methodologies, together with exposure to emerging technology risks across AI/ML, containerised platforms, CI/CD environments, or software supply chains.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings, business impact, and remediation priorities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
