Job Summary
Support inquiry-based science learning by managing and maintaining science laboratories and learning environments, assisting teachers with practical lesson preparation, ensuring laboratory safety, and providing administrative and logistical support in a primary school setting.
Responsibilities
- Support inquiry-based learning by preparing materials and apparatus for science practical lessons and assessments
- Manage, operate, and maintain two science laboratories and related science learning environments such as the school garden and science corners
- Source, procure, and maintain an inventory of laboratory equipment and consumables
- Ensure laboratory safety by monitoring safe use of tools and potentially serving as a certified first aider
- Assist in classes, workshops, and events by providing logistical support and supervising safe laboratory practices
- Provide administrative support as assigned by the school
- Handle live specimens, including insects and chemicals, safely and responsibly
Required competencies and certifications
- NITEC Diploma or GCE O Level Certificate
- At least 2 years of experience as a lab technician in a primary school
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working Hours: - Mondays to Fridays: 7.00 am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
