About the Role
We are seeking an SAP Techno-Functional Batch Operations Specialist to optimize and manage our batch job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong SAP techno-functional expertise, hands-on experience with batch management, and a proven track record in SAP project environments. You will ensure seamless batch operations, minimize downtime, and drive efficiency across our SAP landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Batch Job Scheduling & Monitoring
- Schedule, monitor, and manage batch jobs using SAP job scheduling tools (e.g., SAP Background Processing, Redwood, TWS).
- Ensure batch jobs execute within defined SLAs and timelines.
- Proactively identify and address execution errors or delays.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Investigate and resolve batch job failures, collaborating with build and functional teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
- Escalate critical incidents to stakeholders with clarity and urgency.
Optimization & Efficiency
- Analyze batch job performance to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Shell, Python, ABAP) for job monitoring and execution.
- Implement process improvements to reduce processing times and enhance reliability.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of batch schedules, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate performance reports on SLA adherence, job success rates, and incident trends.
- Provide stakeholders with regular updates and incident reports.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have:
- SAP Techno-Functional Proficiency: Deep understanding of SAP modules and batch job management.
- Batch Management Expertise: Hands-on experience scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting batch jobs in SAP environments.
- SAP Project Experience: Proven involvement in SAP implementations, upgrades, or migrations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP job scheduling tools (e.g., SAP Background Processing, Redwood, TWS).
- Scripting skills for automation (e.g., Shell, Python, ABAP).
- Knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD) and their batch dependencies.
Preferred:
- Experience with SAP Basis or SAP HANA.
- Certifications in SAP or job scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of ITIL or DevOps practices.
