Job Summary
The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of Jumbo Group's SAP environment. This includes system administration, monitoring, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting system upgrades and enhancements.
The role ensures high system availability and supports business continuity across SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability and stable operation of SAP systems (24/7 support environment where required)
- Perform SAP Basis administration, including: User and client administration Role and authorization management Transport Management System (TMS) administration Background job monitoring and scheduling
- Monitor system performance and carry out tuning activities to ensure optimal system operation
- Execute system maintenance activities including: Patch implementation and kernel upgrades System backups, recovery, and restoration processes Operating system and database maintenance (Linux environment)
- Support SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver environments
- Maintain system configuration, technical architecture, and integration landscape
- Manage incident and service requests within agreed service levels
- Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, including testing and execution
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers for technical support and issue resolution
- Support implementation of IT projects and system enhancements to meet business requirements
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure system stability and performance
- Carry out any other duties assigned in relation to SAP system support
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in SAP Basis administration or equivalent technical SAP support role
- Knowledge of SAP system administration principles
- Basic understanding of SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver technologies
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and enterprise database environments
- Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting
