Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions with Salesforce as the core platform.

The successful candidate will act as the technical design authority, shaping solution architecture, defining governance standards, and guiding cross-functional teams across development, integration, and data migration. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with stakeholder advisory, architectural governance, and team coaching to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Governance

  • Define and own end-to-end solution architecture across Salesforce clouds and integrated enterprise systems.

  • Establish and enforce technical governance, architectural standards, coding practices, and design patterns.

  • Develop architectural artefacts including solution blueprints, integration architecture, data and security models, and technical decision logs.

  • Ensure appropriate balance between platform configuration and custom development aligned to business and compliance requirements.

Solution Design & Integration

  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to review business requirements and define scalable solution designs.

  • Define integration strategies using modern patterns such as API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, batch and file-based integrations.

  • Provide architectural oversight for data modelling, migration strategies, data quality controls, and lineage considerations.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead technical workshops and design sessions to translate business needs into technical specifications.

  • Guide implementation teams through development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilisation.

  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints early, and drive mitigation and escalation strategies.

  • Oversee release management processes including environment strategy, CI/CD pipelines, sandbox governance, and source-driven development.

Stakeholder Advisory & Enablement

  • Advise business and technology stakeholders on Salesforce platform roadmap and enterprise architecture alignment.

  • Communicate technical trade-offs and constraints clearly while proposing practical, value-driven alternatives.

  • Support knowledge transfer initiatives including proof-of-concept development, technical workshops, and documentation.

Team Development

  • Mentor and coach technical leads, senior developers, and consultants to strengthen delivery capability.

  • Contribute to development of reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best-practice playbooks.

  • Support resource planning and skills development aligned to project demand.

Pre-Sales & Solution Support

  • Provide architectural input for proposals including solution approach, effort estimation, delivery planning, and risk assessment.

  • Evaluate complementary technologies such as AppExchange solutions and integration platforms.

  • Support demonstrations, solution positioning, and client presentations where required.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise software delivery with at least 8 years focused on Salesforce implementation and architecture.

  • Salesforce Architect certifications such as Application Architect or System Architect.

  • Strong expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, including multi-cloud solutions, security and sharing models, data architecture, Apex and Lightning Web Components design patterns.

  • Proven experience in integration architecture using API-led connectivity, MuleSoft or equivalent middleware, event-driven and batch integration patterns.

  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, SFDX, environment strategy, and release governance.

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data modelling, and testing methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and engage senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and technical documentation skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience working in an IT services or consulting environment.

  • Additional Salesforce certifications such as OmniStudio, Integration Architect, Industries or JavaScript Developer.

  • MuleSoft certification or strong middleware implementation experience.

  • Enterprise architecture credentials such as TOGAF or cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Prior experience in public sector or regulated industry projects.

  • Hands-on development background in Apex, Java, JavaScript, or front-end technologies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
