Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, regulations, and Codes of Practice
- Enforce adherence to project-specific safety requirements, including client standards
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments for construction and installation activities
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems
- Enforce cleanroom protocols including gowning procedures, contamination control, and restricted access
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements for ultra-pure environments and sensitive equipment areas
- Supervise and control high-risk construction activities (e.g. hot works, work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry)
- Review and approve permits-to-work and ensure all safety controls are in place before commencement
- Coordinate lock-out/tag-out(LOTO) procedures and energy isolation controls
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses prepare detailed reports and root cause analysis
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and follow up on corrective actions
- Conduct site safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and specialized training for workers and subcontractors
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with zero-incident objectives
- Ensure all personnel are trained and certified for cleanroom and high-risk activities
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation including inspection records, permits, incident reports, and compliance logs
- Prepare for and support internal/external audits, including client audits
- Ensure all documentation meets both regulatory and client-specific standards
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and ensure readiness for inspections
Requirements:
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM Singapore
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction safety.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and high-tech industry safety standards
- Experience with PTW systems, LOTO procedures, and hazardous materials management
- Familiarity with clean room protocols and contamination control practices
- Good communication and coordination skills in a multi-disciplinary environment
