Job Purpose
The WSH Coordinator supports the implementation and monitoring of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) programmes across sites. This role works closely with the HSE department and site teams to ensure compliance with WSH regulations, promote safe work practices, manage risks, and support continuous improvement of safety performance.
This role is offered on a 1-year contract, with an opportunity to transition into a permanent position for high performers.
Key Responsibilities
WSH Programme Support & Compliance
Support the implementation of WSH programmes and initiatives
Explain WSH compliance requirements and proper work practices relevant to employees
Address and provide guidance on instances of WSH non-compliance and unsafe work practices
Report WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions, and unsafe practices
Site Inspections & Monitoring
Conduct site WSH compliance inspections and routine checks
Monitor work practices
Collect and maintain data
Support the implementation of actions to improve WSH performance and control risks
Monitor the effectiveness
Incident & Emergency Management
Manage and respond promptly to incidents and accidents
Follow site Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPRPs) during emergency situations
Alert team members of emergency situations and potential escalation of incidents or accidents
Support WSH incident and accident investigations
Follow investigation protocols to collect data and report findings
Contribute recommendations to prevent recurrence of incidents and accidents
Support the implementation of immediate, corrective, and preventive actions
Risk Management & IMS Support
Assess work processes to identify and establish the scope of WSH risks
Execute Risk Management (RM) plans and conduct Risk Assessments (RA)
Support and implement action plans to improve AlfaTech Integrated Management System (IMS)
Ensure RM and RA documentation is properly executed and maintained
Other
May be required to stay beyond normal working hours on rare occasions to support site operations or emergency situations
Candidate Requirements
Exposure to regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, manufacturing, cleanroom, laboratory, or industrial sites experience in pharmaceutical environments is an advantage
Experience reviewing and assessing Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation and providing professional advice on hazard identification
Knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements and experience in conducting safety audits are advantageous
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, and engage workers, supervisors, and contractors across site operations
Possesses a safety-driven mindset, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and regulated environment
Willing to learn, adaptable, and able to handle stress and work under pressure
Proactive and positive in influencing safe behaviours on site team-oriented with good interpersonal skills
Intermediate computer literacy, including email, Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to adopt online platforms for safety documentation management
Experience with safety management systems, incident reporting tools, digital permit systems, Microsoft 365, or Google Workspace is an advantage
Holds a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health and valid WSH Coordinator Refresher Training
Additional WSQ certifications such as Process Plant Safety, Risk Management, Confined Space, or Work-at-Height are advantageous
Able to work at Tuas (Bus pick up at Tuas MRT)
