Job Description

CREATIVITY IS OUR SUPERPOWER. It's our heritage and it's also our future. Because we don't just make toys. We create innovative products and experiences that inspire fans, entertain audiences and develop children through play. Mattel is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and heard—when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers.

The Team:

Become a key part of Mattel's Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) function, driving supply chain integrity aligned with our long-term global strategy. We are seeking a talented, motivated, and driven individual to focus on the critical area of supply chain compliance risks.

Mattel's GRC program aims to build stakeholder trust and ensure business continuity by embedding risk management, compliance practices, and effective governance throughout our value chain. We implement company-wide standards and continuously improve our due diligence and risk monitoring processes as part of our broader GRC framework.

Job Description

The Opportunity:

As a Supply Chain Compliance Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks across Mattel's Worldwide Operations and global supply base. Leveraging data analysis, third-party intelligence, and GRC initiatives, you will help ensure that supply chain activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners, including third-party risk service providers. You will interpret complex risk analytics, communicate insights effectively to diverse stakeholders, and support the development of operational controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with Mattel's policies and standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, attention to detail, and communication skills, with the ability to manage day-to-day risk monitoring while contributing to strategic improvements. Experience engaging senior-level stakeholders on complex, time-sensitive compliance matters is essential, along with a strong commitment to upholding risk and compliance standards.

Open to talents from Malaysia and Singapore.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Collaborate effectively with Mattel business units, functions, third-party risk service providers, and other supply chain partners to address compliance risks.
  • Proactively work with cross-functional Mattel teams to support GRC program enhancements and measurable process improvements related to supply chain compliance risk management.
  • Assist in conducting supply chain compliance risk assessments and associated due diligence activities, ensuring alignment with Mattel's overall GRC framework.
  • Analyze supply chain compliance risk data (from internal systems, third-party providers, and assessments) to identify trends, assess potential impacts, evaluate control effectiveness, and uncover opportunities for mitigation within Mattel's supply chain.
  • Manage the intake, review, and initial assessment of data and reports from third-party supply chain risk intelligence providers, escalating significant findings as appropriate.
  • Develop, refine, and manage project management processes for specific compliance risk tasks or initiatives within the GRC function, prioritizing leveraging technology and automation.
  • Develop and oversee reporting frameworks for supply chain compliance risks, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and audit findings, ensuring seamless integration into overarching GRC reporting and delivering actionable insights for Mattel's executive leadership.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance (GRC), Audit, Supply Chain Management, or a related field focusing on compliance, operational risk, or third-party risk management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), particularly Tableau for data analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions in complex situations, often involving regulatory interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk and compliance information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven experience interacting with and presenting information effectively to senior-level management.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience leveraging technology (e.g., data visualization tools, risk management software).
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working directly with supply chain risk management tools/platforms or third-party risk intelligence providers.
  • Familiarity with key supply chain compliance regulations (e.g., trade compliance, sanctions, anti-bribery, environmental, data privacy regulations impacting suppliers).
