Risk Analyst

Our client is looking for a Risk Analyst to join their risk team, supporting the monitoring and analysis of market and trading exposures across the business.

This role will work closely with stakeholders across Trading, Finance and Risk, providing insights into risk positions, portfolio performance and market movements within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse daily trading and market risk exposures
• Prepare regular risk reports and provide analysis on portfolio and position movements
• Analyse market data, P&L movements, sensitivities and key risk indicators
• Support risk monitoring across physical and/or financial commodity positions
• Perform exposure, limit and sensitivity analysis and highlight potential areas of concern
• Work closely with Trading and other business teams to understand and assess risk positions
• Support the development and improvement of risk reporting and processes
• Assist with risk controls, policies and other governance requirements
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and support projects relating to risk management and business performance

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in market risk, commodity risk, trading risk, financial risk or a related function
• Exposure to energy, commodities, trading or financial markets would be advantageous
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with good attention to detail
• Good understanding of financial markets, commodities and risk concepts
• Strong Excel skills; experience with SQL, Python, Power BI or other analytical tools would be advantageous
• Comfortable working with large datasets and translating analysis into meaningful insights
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
