HULS Gallery is a Japanese craft gallery dedicated to sharing the beauty and cultural value of Japanese craftsmanship with the world.

Monthly Basic Salary: SGD 2,800–3,200

About the Role

We are looking for a warm, responsible, and motivated individual to join our gallery team at Millenia Walk.

This is more than a conventional retail position. You will help customers discover Japanese craftsmanship through thoughtful conversations, personalised recommendations, and attentive service.

You do not need to be an expert in Japanese crafts when you join us. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your appreciation for design and culture, and your ability to connect with people.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide thoughtful, professional service.
• Introduce Japanese crafts and share the stories behind the products.
• Build lasting relationships with customers.
• Support daily sales, POS operations, and inventory management.
• Maintain beautiful and well-organised product displays.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth gallery operations.

Who We Are Looking For

• Experience in retail, hospitality, lifestyle, or other customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A genuine interest in design, craftsmanship, culture, or lifestyle products.
• A responsible, detail-oriented, and collaborative attitude.
• Willingness to learn about Japanese crafts and their cultural backgrounds.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays according to the roster.
• Continuously develop knowledge of Japanese craftsmanship.

Working Days / Hours

• 5-day work week, based on a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)
• Working hours: 10:45 AM – 8:15 PM (including a 1-hour break).

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred; a background in Art or Design is an advantage
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
• Genuine interest in Japanese culture, craftsmanship, and handcrafted products.
• Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
