Position:Assistant Manager

Job Type:Full-Time

AUREA is a contemporary restaurant and bar located at THE RIDGE @ NUS, Singapore. The restaurant features a soaring dining space with a refined yet understated aesthetic-neutral stone flooring, oak seating, and matte metallic accents. We provide both in-house dining services and bar operations, serving the university community, corporate events, and private dinners.

Position Mission

To assist in overseeing all aspects of AUREA's daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while achieving financial targets. As Assistant Manager, you will be deeply involved in two core beverage pillars-coffee bar operations and bar service

Leveraging your professional certifications and hands-on expertise to elevate beverage quality, drive service efficiency, and boost sales growth.

Core Responsibilities

I. Restaurant Operations Management

- Responsible for daily restaurant operations, including scheduling, inventory control, cost management, and achievement of financial targets

- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and alcohol regulations

- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests, maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction

II. Beverage Operations (Core Differentiating Responsibility)

- Coffee Bar Operations: Lead daily quality control of the coffee bar, utilizing professional coffee skills to ensure consistency in espresso, milk-based drinks, and pour-over beverages

- Bar Operations: Oversee cocktail preparation, beverage service, and bar management, ensuring all drinks meet recipe standards and quality expectations

- Beverage Cost Control: Monitor coffee bean, alcohol, and ingredient inventory conduct regular stock takes minimize waste

- Beverage Innovation: Participate in the development and testing of seasonal beverage menus, proposing new items based on market trends

III. Team Leadership & Training

- Train new hires in coffee preparation, beverage service, and standardized operating procedures

- Conduct foundational coffee knowledge and alcohol knowledge training for the service team to enhance overall beverage recommendation capabilities

- Motivate and coach team members to achieve service standards and sales targets

IV. Sales & Guest Experience

- Drive beverage upselling and pairing recommendations to increase average spend per guest

- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless food and beverage coordination

- Collect guest feedback to continuously refine the beverage menu and service flow

Requirements

- Education: Diploma or above in Hospitality Management, F&B Management, or a related field

- Experience: Minimum 1 year of F&B operations experience

- SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Barista Skills certification

- Barista Skills certification(s)

- Alcohol Certification(s)

- WSQ Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol or equivalent alcohol service certification

- City & Guilds Professional Bartending (Cocktail Focus) Level 2 certification

- Professional certificate in bartending or beverage management

Competency Requirements

- Excellent coffee-making skills, including espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art

- Solid knowledge of classic cocktails and preparation skills familiarity with spirits and wine fundamentals

- Strong leadership and team management abilities able to remain calm and efficient under pressure

- Excellent communication and guest service skills, with the ability to handle complaints and emergencies

- Basic financial literacy able to understand P&L, cost control, and inventory management principles

- Proficient in POS systems and F&B management software

Preferred Qualifications

- Background in hotel or upscale restaurant environments

- Bilingual communication skills in English and Mandarin

- Experience in beverage menu development
