Resident Technical Officer (RTO)

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Report site progress and issues promptly to management, addressing any non-conformities. Verify that materials delivered to site meet quality and specification requirements. Ensure that workmanship quality adheres to industry standards and contract specifications. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants regarding on-site matters. Monitor testing and commissioning works, including those related to materials and engineering systems. Assist in preparing inspection checklists and reports for supervision. Maintain detailed site records, including daily reports, site diaries, and photographs. Observe and report unsafe practices or conditions, ensuring adherence to safety procedures. Attend technical and site meetings, providing updates while tracking rectification works until completion.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Registered as a Technical Officer with the relevant authority. More than 3 years of relevant experience in building, civil, infrastructure, or engineering projects. Familiarity with construction drawings and understanding of codes of practice are essential. Strong site supervision and coordination skills are crucial for success in this role. Effective communication skills to engage with various stakeholders. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office and basic digital tools for site management.
