Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Resident Technician to provide on-site support in a Data Centre environment. The role combines hands-on DC operations, automation using SQL and Excel, and capacity planning to ensure efficient operations, preventive maintenance, and smooth delivery of IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily Data Centre operational tasks, including hardware installation, troubleshooting, patching, and preventive maintenance.
- Support rack and stack activities, cable management, and equipment upgrades.
- Monitor Data Centre infrastructure systems (power, cooling, network connectivity) and escalate issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and reports using SQL and Excel to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Perform data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support capacity planning and resource optimization.
- Assist in inventory management, including tracking of assets, spare parts, and consumables.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for maintenance activities and service improvements.
- Maintain compliance with operational standards, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.

Requirements:
- 25 years of experience in Data Centre operations or IT infrastructure support.
- Strong skills in SQL (queries, automation scripts) and Excel (macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Experience in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Familiarity with DC infrastructure monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on-site.
- Willingness to work in shifts or weekends when required.
