ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Research Scientist in ADC Chemistry who will work closely with chemistry and ADC team members as well as other cross-functional and external parties, such as CROs. As a Research Scientist in the Chemistry team, you will support the design, making and assessment of linker-payload molecules in our ADCs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the design of molecules, including the identification of synthetic and other potential risks and their mitigations
- Conduct desk research into molecules and moieties, their properties and impact on ADC profile
- Prepare reports and other documents on synthetic routes, molecule synthesis, and molecule assessment, with attention-to-detail and data integrity
- Support administrative and finance activities, including raising and tracking of purchase requests, invoices and budgets
- Support molecule inventory & supply management, including maintaining of inventories, shipments and supply for ADC manufacture and other activities
- Support team management activities, including maintaining of activity trackers and dashboards to facilitate team and cross-functional collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & experience: Minimum qualifications: PhD in organic/medicinal chemistry (preferred), alternatively a Masters degree in organic/medicinal chemistry with a minimum of 6 years, predominantly in industry/CRO setting
Skills:
- Expertise in the design of pharmaceutical molecules and their synthetic routes
- Experience in managing administrative activities of a chemistry R&D group, including the tracking of timelines/budgets/activities
- Experience in preparing reports/experimental write-ups/data summaries
- Experience working with external parties, such as CROs
- Experience in chemistry data analysis (HPLC, LC-MS, 1D/2D NMR, etc.)
- Proficiency with ChemDraw and standard productivity software
- Familiarity with medicinal chemistry and pharmacology (PK/PD) concepts in oncology as it relates to the design, assessment and iteration of a synthetic campaign
- Interest and understanding of the current trends and potential challenges in ADC linker-payload synthesis
- Strong written/oral communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong attention-to-detail and ability to quality check data sets
