Research Scientist (1 year contract), SCIS

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on improving the performance of health monitoring on smart earbuds using PPG technology. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Prof Thivya Kandappu from School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University.

Candidate's core responsibilities are:

• Work on literature review and study design.
• Work on IRB application and preliminary self-test.
• Work on large-scale data collection with 30-40 participants.
• Work on analyze data and write a report.
• Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from an institution of higher learning
• Minimum 1 years of relevant research experience in wearable-based sensing, PPG signal analysis, embedded device, or signal processing
• Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python and C will be positively considered/ is required
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on PPG sensors and signal processing
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills. Applicants with research publications in PPG will be advantageous
• Applicants with research background in Biomedical Engineering will be advantageous
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members
