Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Fellow to join our team of iPSC biobanking. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the collection, characterization, and maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cell lines, contributing directly to cutting-edge research initiatives in regenerative medicine, disease modeling, and drug discovery.

iPSC Generation & Characterization

  • Derive iPSC lines from donor materials (e.g., PBMCs, fibroblasts from skin biopsies).
  • Perform reprogramming using established protocols and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Conduct quality control, including karyotyping, pluripotency marker analysis, and differentiation assays.

Biobank Management

  • Maintain and expand the iPSC biobank by cataloguing new lines.
  • Ensure proper cryopreservation, storage, and retrieval of iPSC lines.
  • Manage donor consent documentation and ethical approvals for sample use.

Research & Development

  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers to support projects using iPSC lines.
  • Apply gene editing (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9) and differentiation protocols to generate disease models.
  • Contribute to publications, grant proposals, and presentations.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to institutional, national, and international guidelines for stem cell research.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor information, consent, and sample processing.
  • Support audits and inspections related to biobank operations

Qualifications

- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

- Hands-on experience in cell culture techniques, preferably with human pluripotent stem cells.

- Familiarity with basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry).

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative research team.

- Knowledge of relevant safety protocols and regulatory guidelines in cell culture and biobanking is desirable.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in iPSC biology and biobanking, with potential for career development and growth within our dynamic research environment.
