Job Description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician (GMP Cell Culture & Processing Operations)

Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented, and hands-on Laboratory Technician to perform cell culture, laboratory, manufacturing and production activities in a GMP-compliant facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing routine laboratory and quality control procedures according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using aseptic techniques where applicable, maintaining proper documentation, assisting in commercial product manufacture and packaging, and performing other laboratory activities including but not limited to housekeeping, reagent preparation, equipment and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all designated activities strictly according to established SOPs and using aseptic techniques where necessary.
  • Perform cell culture and other laboratory activities including but not limited to quality control, downstream processing, and bioassays.
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and facility.
  • Prepare, label, and document reagents according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Where necessary, assist in manufacture, dispensing, packaging and labelling of commercial products following strict instruction, ensuring product quality and safety, packaging integrity, labelling accuracy and traceability.
  • Housekeeping activities e.g. washing labware, inventory management, waste disposal
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in logbooks, batch records, and checklists.
  • Support environmental monitoring, inventory management, and routine equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, workflow, safety, and compliance.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.

Technical Skills (Optional but preferred):

Basic experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques with experience in cell culture and laboratory reagent preparation.
Basic experience in basic laboratory techniques such as aseptic techniques, pipetting, reagent preparation, and equipment operation & maintenance with sound understanding of cleanroom or biosafety practices.
Able to perform routine repetitive work with precision and consistency in controlled environments.
Able to understand and adhere to GMP/GLP concepts, documentation and compliance requirements.
Able to follow SOPs with precision, with good documentation skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently under supervision and manage time effectively.
