The Research Fellow will be a member of the IPUR research team, working under the Lead Scientist (Environment & Climate) to help deliver IPUR's research programme on risk perceptions and communications in the field of environment and climate. Specifically, the RF will focus on the estimation of the human cost of coastal flooding in Singapore, in addition to providing support in project and grant management and the work of the Institute generally. Responsibilities will include literature review, model development, quantitative and spatial data collection and analysis, preparation of policy and scholarly publications and conference presentations.
Candidates should have a PhD in civil or environmental engineering and have an interest in and awareness of climate and environmental issues in Singapore. All candidates should have a strong willingness to learn about new topics and methods. Applicants with experience in numerical modelling, flood risk assessment, and programming preferred. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
