Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated research Assistant to contribute to research project focused on photopolymer resin formulation and 3D printing optimization. This project aims to develop and characterize advanced photopolymer materials for DLP/SLA additive manufacturing. The researcher will play a key role in resin synthesis, process optimization, and experimental design.

Key Responsibilities:
Formulation & Material Development:
. Design and refine photopolymer resin formulations tailored for SLA/DLP 3D printing applications.
. Identify and assess monomers, oligomers, photo initiators, and additives to achieve superior mechanical and optical characteristics.
. Perform chemical characterization and stability assessments of the formulated resins.

3D Printing & Prototype Fabrication:
. Utilize SLA/DLP 3D printers to fabricate prototypes and validate material performance.
. Optimize printing parameters to achieve high resolution, accuracy, and mechanical strength.
. Troubleshoot print failures and refine formulations based on performance results.

Mechanical & Functional Testing:
. Perform mechanical tests on printed parts (e.g., tensile, flexural, impact, hardness).
. Evaluate post-processing effects such as UV curing, heat treatments, and solvent exposure.
. Assess long-term stability and degradation of printed structures.

Required/Desired Skills

. Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
. Experience in photopolymer resin formulation and UV-curable materials and hands-on experience with DLP/SLA 3D printing and print parameter optimization.
. Familiarity with chemical and mechanical characterization techniques.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.

Required/Desired Qualifications

. Prior experience in high-temperature, or functional photopolymers.
. Knowledge of post-processing techniques (UV curing, thermal treatment).

Minimum 2 years experience in polymer/resin formulation and 3D printing within a technology/research organisation. Fresh graduate with relevant knowledge and skills will be considered.
