Regional Supervisor - Southeast Asia Expansion (Hands-On Operator Only)
We are expanding into Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand - and we are looking for one person to take full ownership of making it happen.
This is not a desk job.
This role is for someone who has actually done it before - not someone who supported or assisted.
What You Will Own
- Set up physical retail stores in 4 countries (site sourcing renovation launch)
- Build and launch online sales channels in each market
- Source and negotiate with landlords, contractors, and suppliers at the lowest possible cost
- Hire, train, and manage overseas sales teams
- Monitor operations remotely (including implementing surveillance systems)
- Create and enforce SOPs and operational standards across all countries
- Drive execution from zero to fully operational by mid next year
Grants & Cost Optimization (Non-Negotiable)
You must know how to use grants to reduce expansion cost.
- Proven experience securing and managing:Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) GrantEnterprise Development Grant
- Ability to structure projects to maximize claimable expenses and approvals
- Experience working with Enterprise Singapore is expected
- Exposure to Singapore Economic Development Board is a plus (not mandatory)
Who We Are Looking For (Strict Requirements)
- You have personally led regional expansion across at least 2-4 Southeast Asian countries
- You have set up physical stores yourself (not just managed after opening)
- You have handled renovation, cost control, and vendor negotiation directly
- You have hired and managed overseas teams
- You have built SOPs and operational systems from scratch
- You have successfully secured and executed government grants

You must be able to show:
- Past projects you personally executed
- Countries, timeline, and results
- Your exact role and decisions made
- Evidence of grants secured and claimed
- Contactable references
If you cannot prove it, you will not be shortlisted
Skills
- Fluent in English & Chinese (Mandarin)
- Thai / Vietnamese is a strong advantage
- Strong negotiation and cost control mindset
- Highly independent, execution-focused
Salary & Employment Terms
- Salary range: SGD $4,000 - $5,000, depending on experience
- 3-month probation period applies
- Salary during probation will be adjusted slightly lower, subject to assessment
- Confirmation will be based on performance and ability to deliver results
What You'll Be Tested On
Shortlisted candidates will:
- Walk through a real project they executed
- Present a market entry + cost + grant strategy
- Be challenged on execution details (no theory answers)
Timeline
- Full setup across 4 countries by mid next year
