Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets.
  • Expand market share across China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and other SEA markets.
  • Identify and secure new customers including steel mills, foundries, recyclers, and traders.


Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with major buyers and strategic accounts.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and supply agreements.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent supply, quality alignment, and dispute resolution.


Market Intelligence & Pricing

  • Monitor scrap price movements, demand trends, import/export regulations, and competitor activity.
  • Provide market insights and forecasts to support pricing strategies and inventory planning.
  • React swiftly to market volatility and geopolitical or policy changes.


Trade Execution & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with procurement, operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth trade execution.
  • Oversee shipment schedules, documentation, payment terms, and risk exposure.
  • Support credit control and mitigate counterparty risk.


Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, environmental requirements, and country-specific import rules.
  • Adhere to company governance, ethics, and sustainability standards


Requirements & Qualifications

Experience

  • 8-12 years of sales or trading experience in scrap metal, steel raw materials, or commodities.
  • Proven track record in managing China and Southeast Asia markets.
  • Strong experience in physical commodity trading, contract negotiation, and price risk management.


Technical & Market Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of scrap grading, specifications, pricing benchmarks, and quality controls.
  • Familiarity with shipping terms (Incoterms), LC/TT payments, and international logistics.
  • Knowledge of China's and SEA's import regulations and environmental policies.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance volume and margin.
  • High adaptability in fast-moving and volatile markets.
  • An analytical mindset with strong reporting and forecasting capability.


Language & Cultural Fit

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage (for China market coverage).
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
