Job Description

The position holder will focus on HR strategy and HR business partnering for the Asia Pacific (Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and India) market. Besides being a trusted business and HR sounding board with the Regional Director, the role requires close cooperation with the Country General Managers and in-country People & Culture.

HR Strategy and HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with Regional Director and Country GMs in aligning HR direction in Asia Pacific with business strategies and objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, organizational design, talent strategy, and change management
  • Guide and coach Country HRs (in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and India) on HR work, particularly on global HR instructions from HQ
  • Anticipate and address complex people-related challenges in diverse cultural regulatory, and business environments
  • Standardize HR practices while respecting local requirements

Talent and Performance Management

  • Oversee recruitment strategies and hiring plans across the region
  • Ensure effective onboarding process for new hires
  • Conduct people review sessions and facilitate succession planning process amongst Asia Pacific business leaders in order to identify talents and build pipeline for key positions in the region
  • Ensure development plans are drawn up and followed through for talents to be developed
  • Champion a data driven approach towards performance management throughout the Asia Pacific organization
  • Implement and manage performance management frameworks

Employee Engagement

  • Facilitate annual employee engagement survey conducted by HQ in the region
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement through surveys and action plans
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs to build leadership and functional capabilities
  • Be a HR ambassador, show care and attention to employees needs, offer career and personal counselling whenever it is appropriate.
  • Assist Regional Director on corporate branding

Compensation and Benefits Design

  • Review and guide the development HR policies in Asia Pacific countries to meet strategic business objectives
  • Ensure competitive and compliant compensation practices across markets
  • Partner with leadership and Finance on salary reviews, budgeting, and benefits programs

HR Operations

  • Manage HR Operations including payroll and employee lifecycle processes for Regional HQ
  • Update and maintain HR information systems to improve efficiency and ensure data integrity
  • Participate in ad hoc HR projects from HQ
  • Support the Finance team in invoice approvals
  • Provide end-user support by coordinating laptop procurement for new hires and replacement devices for existing staff, including setup and configuration
