About the Client
Our client is a next-generation global platform for distributed green energy, combining SaaS, marketplace, and embedded fintech services. They are scaling rapidly across multiple regions and are now seeking a high-calibre Regional MD to design, build, and lead the platforms financial services ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the global fintech strategy, aligned with the platforms SaaS Marketplace Fintech growth roadmap.
- Build and scale the financial services business unit from the ground up, with full P&L responsibility.
Product Development
- Lead the design and launch of financial products including payments, escrow, lending, trade credit, supply chain finance, BNPL, and embedded insurance.
- Drive the integration of payment gateways, lending APIs, and insurance providers to ensure seamless user experience.
Partnerships & Market Expansion
- Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with banks, PSPs, BNPL providers, insurers, and fintech infrastructure providers.
- Expand financial product coverage across EU, US, and Australia, tailoring solutions to local regulations and customer preferences.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Lead compliance for global financial products, including PSD2 (EU), MTL (US), ACL/AFSL (Australia), AML/KYC, and insurance distribution rules.
- Build risk management frameworks to address payment fraud, credit risk, and regulatory reporting.
Team Building
- Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing fintech team, including product managers, payment operations, risk analysts, and compliance officers.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in fintech, payments, or marketplace financial services, with at least 5 years in senior leadership. Proven track record of launching and scaling payments, lending, or insurance products in large-scale e-commerce, cross-border marketplaces, or fintech platforms. Strong understanding of global payment systems, cross-border settlement, lending regulations, and embedded finance.
- Skills: Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities. Good understanding of EU, US, and Australian financial regulations and licensing. Commercial acumen and negotiation skills with financial institutions and fintech vendors. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
