Regional Business Development Director (APAC)

Position Brief:

Our client is a well-established, diversified group with a strong footprint across Asia-Pacific, delivering technical and engineering-led services across multiple sectors.

As part of its next phase of growth, the group is actively evolving its portfolio — shifting from more capital-intensive activities towards higher-margin, service-led and recurring revenue businesses, with a particular focus on areas such as energy solutions, sustainability and digital infrastructure.

To support this transformation, we are seeking a Regional Business Development Director to identify, originate and execute new growth opportunities across APAC.

The Role:

This is a highly strategic and hands-on position, operating at the intersection of investment, business development and operations.

You will:

• Originate and develop a pipeline of opportunities across priority sectors and markets
• Lead end-to-end deal execution — including partnerships, joint ventures, minority/majority investments and acquisitions
• Structure and negotiate complex, cross-border transactions
• Work closely with senior leadership to align opportunities with existing capabilities and long-term strategy
• Play a key role in post-deal integration and value creation, including supporting the operational build-out of new platforms where required

This is not a pure M&A role — the mandate extends beyond execution into hands-on involvement in shaping and scaling new business lines.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a commercially minded individual with a blend of deal-making capability and operational credibility.

You will bring:

• 15+ years experience across corporate development, M&A, private equity or principal investing
• A track record of executing cross-border transactions across APAC
• Experience working across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, sustainability or industrial services
• Exposure to post-merger integration, operational value creation or business build-outs
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate across diverse markets and cultures.

Candidates who have moved between investment roles and operating environments will be particularly well suited.
