About the Role:
The Regional Applications Specialist, APAC is responsible for solution support and project execution across Contract Logistics and Freight Forwarding. The role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing analytics solutions while delivering new analytics initiatives end to end. This position requires strong hands-on technical skills, operational awareness, and the ability to balance day-to-day support with project delivery.
Responsibility:
Solution Support & Maintenance (Core Responsibility)
- Provide ongoing support for production analytics solutions, including data pipelines, data models, and dashboards.
- Monitor and support Apache NiFi workflows, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support and maintain Starburst queries, data models, and performance optimization.
- Maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards, including enhancements, bug fixes, and performance tuning.
- Handle user support requests, incident resolution, and minor change requests within agreed SLAs.
- Ensure data accuracy, availability, and proper documentation of supported solutions.
Project Execution & Delivery
- Execute analytics projects from requirement gathering through design, build, testing, and deployment.
- Develop new data pipelines using NiFi and analytical datasets using Starburst.
- Design and deliver dashboards and reports in Power BI to support business and operational needs.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
- Support UAT, production rollout, and post-implementation stabilization.
Analytics & Business Support
- Deliver analytics solutions supporting Contract Logistics and Freight Forwarding use cases (e.g. operational KPIs, SLA performance, shipment visibility, cost and margin analysis).
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and investigations to support operations, finance, and commercial teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.
Platform & Cloud Operations
- Support analytics solutions running on Microsoft Azure.
- Work with IT and platform teams on access management, security, and operational readiness.
- Follow best practices for change management, deployment, and environment support.
Requirements
- At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience with Apache NiFi (development and support)
- Strong working experience with Starburst
- Proven expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development, support)
- Experience working in Microsoft Azure data and analytics environments
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Able to manage both support and project execution effectively
- Service-oriented mindset with good stakeholder communication
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently
- Experience in Contract Logistics and/or Freight Forwarding
- Familiarity with logistics or forwarding systems (WMS, TMS, Freight Forwarding System)
- Experience supporting production analytics environments
- Python or scripting experience for automation and troubleshooting
- Understanding of incident, change, or release management processes
