Job Scope: Safety Coordinator
Responsibilities
- This role is full time role at an assigned project
- This role directly reports to the Project In-charge and Project EHS Leader
- Carry out initiatives to support Project specific EHS Plan i.e. policies, targets and programs
- Educate and provide advisory on EHS compliance to Project staffs inc. Sub-con
- Assist and participate in all EHS activities and meetings at Project and maintain EHS records
- Contribute suggestions to mitigate reoccurrences of incidents and accidents
- Conduct routine checks on Project Tools and Equipment's including Heavy Machineries etc
- To validate and/or verify Permit-to-Work submissions prior start of works
- Support in EHS Incident and Accident investigations and assist in Return-to-Work program
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that may have negative EHS related impacts and enforce preventative measures
- Collect EHS Statistics and prepare reports for Project management
- Gathering feedback from workers
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Superior from time to time
Requirements and Skills
- Proven relevant (3) years of experience as EHS coordinator
- Verifiable experience in Civil, Building and/or Infrastructure development projects
- In depth knowledge of local Workplace, Safety, Health (WSH) & Environmental legislation and procedures
- Proficient in MS Office Working knowledge of safety management information digital systems is a plus
- Ability to be a team collaborator with good interpersonal personality
- Attention to detail, spotter of non-compliances
- Ability to influence stakeholders and leading by example as the EHS custodian
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain Environmental and WSH topics, conduct trainings when required
- Recognised-Relevant certifications in WSH and/or Environment
- Able to work in Tuas
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a high-risk construction environment such as Humid / Hot / Dusty / Machineries / Noisy / At heights etc
- Physically fit to perform daily routine Site inspections / Site audits / Trainings
- Time to time will require performing Climbing on scaffolds / Prolong walking on foot / Climbing stairs and Standing Supervision when necessary
- To be donned in relevant Personal Protective Equipment throughout the work hours
- May be required to work on irregular hours / shift work / remote locations
