Prepare preliminary cost estimates and cost plans based on conceptual or schematic designs
Provide cost advice to support design and development and ensure alignment with the Client's budget
Advise on appropriate procurement strategies (e.g. traditional, D&B, etc.)
Prepare tender documents and manage tender process.
Participate in value engineering workships and provide cost-impact analysis
Assist in the negotiation and award of the Contracts
Monitor project cost performance and maintain cost control systems
Conduct regular site visits to evaluate progress claims and issue payment recommendations
Assess variations, and maintain updated cost reports and forecasts, including cash flow projection
Provide monthly cost reports, financial statements and updates to Client and Consultants
Prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts with Contractors
Attend project meetings and provide timely commercial and contractual advice
Requirements
Recognised Bachelor's Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from recognized universities
Preferably with minimum of 2 years (for Junior QS) and 4 years (for QS) of QS relevant working experience with both private and public sector clients and preferably with knowledge of SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract.
Work experience gained from consultancy firm will be an advantage
Good technical knowledge for measurement, cost estimating and construction technology
Understand and familiar with professional practice and contract administration processes
Able to work as a team player and multi-task on few on-going projects/ assignments
Resourceful, independent, responsible and able to work in a challenging and fast paced environment
