Role Overview:
Our client is a well-established electrical contractor in Singapore, specializing in electrical installation, maintenance, and project management for commercial, industrial, and residential developments. They are currently seeking a dedicated and hands-on Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to oversee on-site electrical works and ensure timely, safe, and quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for electrical works.
- Evaluate and analyze contract terms, variations, and progress claims.
- Conduct cost planning, value engineering, and budget monitoring throughout project lifecycle.
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and certify subcontractor claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Prepare progress claims and payment applications to clients and consultants.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary controls.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate quantity and cost assessments.
- Maintain proper documentation for all cost and contractual matters.
- Assist in contract administration, tender negotiations, and project cost reporting.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in electrical contracting or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation works.
- Familiar with local tendering procedures, contracts (PSSCOC/SIA), and cost control practices.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QS-related software.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
