Quantity Surveyor (LTA Projects)

Our client in the construction sector is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage client and sub-contractor claims, monitor sub-contractor progress and oversee project sundry accounts. You will work closely with the supervisor and project teams to keep project cost and progress records accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site visits and coordinate with project teams to review project information against contract requirements
• Update monthly project progress data on an ongoing basis
• Enter cost details into the project cost control system in a timely manner
• Provide accurate inputs to the supervisor for monthly progress claims to the client, and prepare draft claims documents as directed
• Prepare draft sub-contract agreements and obtain supervisor approval
• Visit sites regularly to track sub-contractor progress against sub-contract requirements
• Produce and maintain month-end cost-to-date and forecast costs for sub-contractors
• Highlight deviations from plan to the supervisor for action planning and corrective measures
• Verify the accuracy of sub-contractor claims (e.g. cost variations) through site visits
• Respond to sub-contractor correspondence promptly, in line with sub-contract requirements
• Seek support from the supervisor and/or project teams where required
• Track costs of all charitable donations attributable to the project
• Raise invoices promptly for surplus/demolished materials sold, and follow up on timely payment from buyers
• Keep records of donations and sales of surplus/demolished materials up to date

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying
• Hands-on experience with project cost control systems (e.g. JDEdwards) is an advantage
