Quantity Surveyor

Working Days: 5 days

Working Timing: 9am - 6pm (Occasional overtime as required by project deadlines)

Salary: $3,000 to $4,000

Address: Bukit Batok

Work may require site visits to various locations as part of monitoring and assessment duties.

Job Summary

He/She is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost estimation, cost control, budgeting, procurement, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

. Prepare cost estimates and financial forecasts for construction projects.

. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all costs are accurately accounted for and within budget constraints.

. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

. Analyze cost data and provide recommendations for cost savings without compromising quality.

Tendering & Procurement:

. Assist in the tendering process by preparing detailed cost breakdowns and reviewing contractors and subcontractors bids.

. Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms for the project.

. Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on cost, quality, and performance criteria.

Contract Management:

. Ensure all contracts are in line with legal and company requirements, including reviewing terms and conditions.

. Monitor contract performance and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to pricing or contractual obligations.

. Manage variations and claims and prepare cost reports for stakeholders. Cost Control &

Financial Reporting:

. Track project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring expenses are controlled and documented.

. Provide regular financial updates to the project manager and client, highlighting any budget overruns or cost concerns.

. Monitor progress against the project schedule and assess the financial implications of any delays or issues.

Risk Management:

. Identify and assess potential financial risks during the planning and construction phases.

. Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and avoid cost overruns.

Site Inspections & Assessments:

. Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction works and ensure they align with the budget.

. Assess and verify quantities and measurements for ongoing works, ensuring accurate billing.

Reporting:

. Prepare and submit detailed reports, including cost analysis, progress updates, and financial status.

. Esure all financial records and documentation are organized and accessible for auditing purposes.

Collaboration:

. Work closely with the project manager, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

. Advise on cost-effective measures and value engineering options.

Requirements:

. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the local construction industry.

. Strong knowledge of construction processes, costs, and contracts.

. Proficiency in using cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

. Membership with a professional body (e.g., RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).

. Knowledge of SINGAPORE construction industry standards, regulations, and legislation.

. Experience in both commercial and residential projects.
