Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to support cable transmission infrastructure projects. The role involves managing project costs, contract administration, and procurement activities related to cable laying, trenching, ducting systems, and associated civil works.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure cost efficiency and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for cable transmission and civil works
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor quotations and make recommendations
  • Administer contracts, including progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts
  • Monitor project costs and track budget against actual expenditure
  • Prepare and submit progress claims to clients
  • Assess and certify subcontractor claims and payments
  • Manage variations, cost changes, and project financial reporting
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on contractual and commercial matters
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Support procurement activities and cost planning for materials and services

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3-6 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in cable transmission, utilities, power, or underground works will be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost control
  • Familiar with standard forms of contracts (e.g. SIA, PSSCOC)
  • Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity take-off
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects

Working Hours

5 or 5.5-day work week depending on project requirements
