We excel in building the architecture, providing solutions, deployment and operations of data centers, connectivity, cloud, networking, servers, system, storage, software, platforms and security. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will sit in the core project team and contribute to the provision of quantity surveying / cost management services to our Data Center projects. The ideal candidate should have pre and post tender experience in Data Center projects, and have strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Job Description:
- Take ownership of the estimating and cost planning activities for Data Center construction projects and Data Center fit-out works.
- Manage and vet the submissions by external consultants / contractors / vendors on contract administration matters, such as validating consultant's milestone claim, claims for variation order and assessing contractor's progress claim, claims for variation works, extension of time, loss and expenses, final account and handling of contractual disputes.
- Work together with internal stakeholders to establish appropriate tendering and procurement procedures.
- Drafting contract / specification clauses, evaluating and providing recommendation for tenders, and awarding contracts.
- Identifying and weighing up commercial risks.
- Expected involvement for greenfield Data Center projects:
- Work together with external consultant to establish and manage the tendering procedures for both CSA and MEP works involved, such as Piling Works, LLE Procurement, General Contractor Tender, MEP Contractor Tender, Interior Designer Works, Data Hall Fit-out Works, Maintenance Contract, Facility Management Works.
- Manage the construction budgets, oversee external consultants/contractors in the coalition and reporting of all project costs via consolidated documentation.
- Manage project cost reports and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Work together with external consultants to prepare a final account for project closure.
- Assist Operations Team in calling and awarding tender for Maintenance Contract and Facility Management Works.
- Expected involvement for Data Center fit-out projects:
- Establish and evaluate the tender for M&E works involved
- Explore and implement any value engineering approach or best practices
- Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare the final account for project closure.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or related degrees from a recognised university.
- At least 5 years quantity surveying / cost management experience, preferably specializing in Data Centers.
- Strong understanding of CSA and MEP elements for greenfield construction projects.
- Good understanding of M&E elements for data center fit-out projects.
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience across the full range of Cost Management duties including: Cost Estimates, Bills of Quantities, Value Engineering, Tendering and Evaluation, Contract Knowledge, Change Orders and Final Account close-out
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate within a cross-functional team.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Professional membership such as SISV, RICS, IQSI, RISM etc. preferred.
