Job Description
WMS Ownership & System Strategy
- Own and lead the Warehouse Management System (WMS) roadmap, including enhancements, integrations, and future-state planning.
- Act as the primary business owner for WMS, ensuring system stability, scalability, and alignment with operational needs.
- Partner with IT, vendors, and operations teams to manage system upgrades, integrations (ERP, automation, third-party tools), and performance optimization.
- Translate operational requirements into clear system solutions and functional designs.
Project & Program Management
- Lead end-to-end supply chain and logistics transformation projects, from ideation through delivery and benefits realization.
- Define project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and success metrics across multiple workstreams.
- Drive disciplined project governance, status reporting, and executive-level communication.
- Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and change impacts, implementing mitigation plans where required.
Cost, Budget & Value Realisation
- Own project budgets and implementation costs, ensuring strong financial discipline and transparency.
- Track and report on project spend, ROI, and post-implementation cost savings.
- Partner with finance and business teams to ensure benefits are measured, validated, and sustained.
Stakeholder & Change Management
- Engage senior stakeholders across operations, supply chain, IT, finance, and external partners.
- Lead change management efforts including user training, communications, and business readiness.
- Build trust and credibility as a subject-matter expert while influencing without authority.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve warehouse productivity.
- Champion data-driven decision making through dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Embed best practices in project delivery, system usage, and operational processes.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, Business, or related disciplines.
- At least 8 years of experience in WMS, supply chain technology, logistics systems, or large-scale operational projects.
- Proven track record owning or leading enterprise WMS implementations or major enhancements.
- Strong hands-on experience with project management across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and value realization.
- Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced, operational environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior leadership exposure.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to bridge business needs and technical solutions.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Exposure to automation, ASRS, ERP integrations, or large distribution network environments.
- Experience working with system vendors, implementation partners, or solution providers.
