Project Manager - Databricks

Role Summary

We are looking for a capable Project Manager to oversee a Proof of Concept (POC) initiative involving Databricks on the AWS platform. This role will be responsible for coordinating project activities across multiple teams, maintaining delivery timelines, and ensuring the successful execution of the data platform evaluation within defined scope and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for the Databricks proof-of-concept implementation.

• Act as the central point of coordination between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

• Plan and monitor project schedules, budget utilisation, and resource assignments.

• Organise and lead discussions to capture requirements and align stakeholders on project objectives.

• Monitor progress against defined POC success criteria and key deliverables.

• Proactively assess potential risks, dependencies, and issues, and implement mitigation plans where required.

• Ensure project activities adhere to internal governance frameworks and security policies.

• Compile status updates and present project outcomes and insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Around 3-5 years of experience managing projects, ideally within cloud or data-related environments involving platforms such as Databricks.

• Hands-on experience overseeing initiatives delivered on AWS or other cloud infrastructures.

• Familiarity with core data engineering concepts and common terminology used in modern data platforms.

• Professional certifications such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile credentials are advantageous.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver pilot programs, prototypes, or proof-of-concept initiatives successfully within defined timelines and budgets.
