Responsibilities
- Determines project specifications by studying product designs, data centre infrastructure, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Perform data centre operation travel to project sites to execute start-up, integration, and training sessions.
- Assist project team in monitoring power infrastructure installation and performance level.
- Confirms product performance by localising power infrastructure faults, and monitoring the temperature and humidity of the data centre.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress coordinating activities and resolving problems.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes recommending actions.
- Maintains data centre performance by monitoring hot and cold aisles, air-conditioning for cooling tower / Air Handling Unit and fire suppression system.
- Work closely with vendors and customers to perform vendor relationship management.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulations.
- Maintains and controls paperwork and submittals for approval requirements.
- Identify workplace safety and health and act as a safety ambassador to ensure safe working across the site.
- In charge of testing and commissioning for Computer Room Air-Conditioning (CRAC), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) batteries, etc.
- Monitors performance of the equipment and UPS battery status.
- Troubleshoot CRAC and UPS and follow up with third-party contractors for repair works when necessary.
- Repairs faulty units and replacement of spare parts such as sensors, switches and controllers.
- Conducts Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring (Project management) and provides training to customers on AC/CRAC, UPS and battery.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, Certified Piping Engineer (CPE) or other related equivalent certification.
- 5 years+ of experience in piping engineering, design, or project execution.
- Experience in industrial, oil & gas, power plants, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Preferred candidates with a background in Data Centres, Oil & Gas, Power Plants, or Industrial Facilities.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, Caesar II (pipe stress analysis), and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, pipe stress, and thermal expansion analysis.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3, API, ANSI, NFPA, and other industry standards.
- Experience with welding processes, material selection, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
