About the role
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of civil engineering and gas pipeline infrastructure projects in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and authority requirements. The role serves as a key coordination point between the project team, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and relevant authorities to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within operational requirements. The Project Engineer will oversee site activities, monitor project progress, manage technical and authority submissions, coordinate utility and permit approvals, and support quality, safety, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities across multiple fast-track projects concurrently.
Key responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in overall planning, coordination, and execution of the GRNE gas pipeline works.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and relevant authorities for project submissions and approvals.
Prepare and monitor project schedule, manpower allocation, and work progress.
Review construction drawings, method statements, risk assessments, SOPs, and technical specifications.
Ensure all site activities comply with PowerGas specifications, Singapore Standards, WSH regulations, and permit requirements.
Coordinate with Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW), Professional Engineer (PE), and WSH personnel for technical and safety matters.
Monitor pipe laying, welding, pressure testing, purging, reinstatement, and commissioning activities.
Attend site meetings, technical meetings, and authority inspections.
Track project costs, variation orders (VO), claims, and material usage.
Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and subcontractor works.
About you
Engineering Degree in relevant engineering field overseas work experience is acceptable.
Track record demonstrating experience in managing private and public site construction, project schedule, progress control, site coordination and managing multiple fast track projects concurrently.
Experience in managing and handling private and public construction projects, utilities projects etc.
Familiar with process of obtaining permit approvals from Authorities (e.g. LTA, JTC, SLA, HDB, TC).
Authority experience from assistant engineer level must be with local Authorities not overseas.
Independent, proactive, commercially driven, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to understand technical specifications and coordinate project-related submissions where required.
