Job Description
Project Director – Data Centre Developer
Singapore‑based with regional travel
We are hiring a Project Director to lead multi‑country data centre delivery for a Singapore‑headquartered, pan‑Asian developer backed by institutional capital. This is a greenfield‑to‑stabilised programme across Southeast Asia, covering multiple markets in the region, with a roadmap to a large regional capacity footprint.
What you will do
- Own the regional delivery programme across multiple campuses, setting master schedules, cost plans and risk registers aligned to business milestones.
- Lead and coordinate PMC, main contractors, MEP specialists and commissioning agents; drive design management, constructability reviews and value engineering for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes.
- Manage interfaces with utilities and authorities (eg. power supply agreements, local permits, grid connections), ensuring programme certainty for energisation and IT load commissioning.
- Establish governance for cost, change, claims and procurement; run rigorous tender processes, negotiate contracts and protect owner interests on time, cost and quality.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing regional project team; embed safety, quality and ESG standards across all sites.
- Partner with finance, legal and operations on project financing milestones, lease‑up deliverables and operational readiness.
What you bring
- 15+ years in data centre, mission‑critical or heavy industrial construction, with at least 3-5 years in senior project leadership (Project Director / Construction Director / VP / SVP level).
- Proven record delivering multi‑building, multi‑MW campuses in Southeast Asia, ideally with developer / owner or PMC backgrounds.
- Deep technical grounding in civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines for hyperscale facilities; fluent in high‑density, AI‑ready design, redundancy concepts and commissioning regimes.
- Strong commercial acumen: contract strategy (FIDIC / NEC / bespoke), claims management, cost control and stakeholder negotiation with contractors, consultants and authorities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable operating at board level and on‑site, and able to influence across cultures and time zones.
- Degree in civil, mechanical, electrical or related engineering; professional chartership or equivalent is an advantage.
Why this role stands out
- Hyper‑growth platform: join a fast‑scaling developer expanding a large regional footprint across Asia, backed by prominent global institutional investors.
- Front‑row to AI infrastructure: deliver next‑generation, high‑density, carrier‑neutral campuses designed for hyperscale and AI workloads, not legacy retrofit.
- Landmark projects: shape flagship assets including large, fully leased campuses in key Southeast Asian markets, supported by landmark local financing structures.
- Real ownership: as an early senior hire in a recently founded platform, you will have high visibility, direct access to leadership and the chance to define delivery standards across the region.
